CEEBT (Continuing Education for European Biology Teachers)
EMBO, the EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) and the European Federation of Biotechnology join forces in 2003 and 2004 to deliver a series of eight national and one international teachers workshops, to create a practical training programme for teachers and scientists, and to develop, archive and distribute the best teaching resources.

EAGLES - European Action on Global Life Sciences
EAGLES is a proposal for a new European initiative concerning global responsibilities in the life sciences. The first EAGLES Steering Committee meeting took place in Brussels on 29 January 2003. On 10 April 2003 a Debate Dinner on European Action on Global Responsibilities was held at the City Hall of Lyon, France. Keynote Speakers were Ismail Serageldin, Director-General, Library of Alexandria, and Marc van Montagu, Gent University and European Group on Life Sciences.

European Focus on Biotechnology in China (EFBIC)
An EC funded initiative of the EFB Task Group on International Relations
to establish Sino-European strategic relations in biotechnology and facilitate collaborations in research, training and innovation between European and Chinese Scientists. The first EFBIC Workshop took place in Shanghai, 11-12 April 2002.
