Section on Biochemical Engineering Science

In September 1996 the European Federation of Biotechnology established its first Section, the Section on Biochemical Engineering Science.

Events

One of the main activities of the Section and the connected Working Groups is the organisation of scientific events.
The 4th European Symposium on Biochemical Engineering Science (ESBES-4) took place in Delft, August 29-31, 2002.

Awards

The Malcolm D. Lilly Award for the best young scientist's presentation during an ESBES symposium was established in 2000 and was granted the second time during ESBES-4.
Now the European Biochemical Engineering Design Award 2002 to young biochemical engineers has been established. The first award was presented during ESBES-4.
